Fault finding, configuration and monitoring using the Hi-O Manager
Hi-O Manager is a PC based tool used for installation, maintenance and faultfinding in Hi-O based systems.
Hi-O Manager has a wizard based user interface and guides the installer or service engineer through the necessary steps depending on the selected task. The major difference between Hi-O and conventional systems is the way in which fault finding, configuration and monitoring is done. Since Hi-O components are networked, the Hi-O Manager tool can easily monitor all functionality and find inconsistencies. Malfunctioning Hi-O components can easily be identified and replaced. In fact, Hi-O Manager automatically identifies new or replaced components in the network and asks the service engineer what to do through the built-in wizard. When physically adding or replacing Hi-O components all the service engineer has to do is keep track of four wires. Hi-O Manager allows the installer to do all necessary settings such as unlock time, time before pre-alarm, delays, specific functions, connections between components etc.
Monitoring the door-functionality could serve several different purposes, for example collecting statistics in order to predict the needed level of service. Remote monitoring makes it easier to plan the service effort since the Hi-O system provides full information about the components in the door. This also means that the service engineer can bring the right components and parts for the service mission.
